Category: Religious
Size: Medium
Condition: Clean, neat, and well-maintained
Inhabitants: The head priest, and few automata who help clean and maintain the cathedral.
Description
The Cattedrale Del Mestiere is one of the largest churches in Madrenice dedicated to the Great Craftsman, the god worshiped by the humans. The cathedral is mostly patronized by the upper class and the ruling elite. As such, the building is elaborately decorated with paintings and statuary. Clockwork is considered a symbol of the Great Craftsman. As a result, the majority of the carvings in the church are fitted with hidden clockwork that causes the stonework to repeat simple movements while the worshippers are observing the faith’s sacraments. Above the door to the church is the motto: “Every gear has its place in the grand machinery of life.”
The teachings of the Great Craftsman emphasize hard work and ingenuity. As a result, services usually run in the evenings and on weekends, when the worshippers are not at work. However, the automata who clean and maintain the church hold early morning services for the free willed automata who still worship the Great Craftsman.
